Repetition
I think about hypnosis, trance like states induced by sound, chants, hymns and prayers. It hyper focuses on a fragment,
it speaks to the way we hyper fixate, overanalyse and obsess over micro interactions and fleeting moments, the repeated sequences unveil hidden melodies, create auditory distortions and at times confuse the senses (how saying the same word over and over causes it to become disfigured)
<Narrative> Abstraction, Temporal Disruption/Deconstruction
Rearranging collected sound samples to reimagine moments in time, dissolving the binary between fantasy and reality (collective experience and subjective reality) – detaching from your story and being an observer of your own past… obscured perceptions of time, using sound to articulate temporal, non linear
Dismemberment/Layered Fragmentation
To the point of illegibility. Reflecting on temporal experiences, decay and the natural world. Memories chopped, scattered and screwed
